Sometimes when students approach the instructor with
a problem, they aren't really looking for an answer.
Sometimes it is just that the student wants contact with a "adult",
who seems to them to have their life together,so they can may be
get some answers too. Occasionally, students want to show a technique
or a solution to the instructor, and is hestitant about showing off because
they are not confident. So, a problem is presented instead.
There are many reasons a student can approach an instructor with an
apparent problem, but actually seeking something esle that is a real issue
in their lives that needs "solving."
An intuitive instructor has to be able to read between the lines.
Instructors who read between the lines are often thought of
as being very wise. It's interesting that being perceptive is
equated with wisdom in our society.
